Synezeugmenon<\/a> or, JOINT-YOKE.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Syn\u2019-e-zeug -men-on<\/i>, i.e.<\/i>, yoked together with<\/i>, or yoked connectedly<\/i>, from\u00a0\u03c3\u1f7b\u03bd
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>(sun <\/i>or syn<\/i>), together with, and \u03b6\u03b5<\/span>\u1f7b<\/span>\u03b3\u03bd\u03c5\u03bc\u03b9<\/span><\/span><\/span>, to yoke<\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This name is given to the Zeugma<\/a> when the verb is joined to more than two clauses, each of which would require its own proper verb in order to complete the sense. *<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

By the Latins it was called ADJUNCTUM, i.e.<\/i>, joined together<\/i>. * On the other hand, when in a succession of clauses each subject has its own proper verb, expressed instead of being understood, then it is called HYPOZEUXIS (Hy\u2019-po-zeux\u2019-is<\/em>), i.e<\/i>., sub-connection with<\/i>. See Psa. 145:5-7, 1 Cor. 13:8. Where several members,
\nwhich at first form one sentence, are unyoked and separated into two or more clauses, the figure is called DIEZEUGMENON, (Di\u2019-e-zeug\u2019-men-on<\/i>), i.e<\/i>., yoked-through, from \u03b4\u03b9\u1f71 (dia), through. This was called by the Latins DISJUNCTIO<\/strong><\/span>.
