Bullinger<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/figuresofspeechinthebible.net\/?page_id=1009\">Synezeugmenon<\/a> or, JOINT-YOKE.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Syn\u2019-e-zeug -men-on<\/i>, <i>i.e.<\/i>, <i>yoked together with<\/i>, or <i>yoked connectedly<\/i>, from\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: SBL Greek;\">\u03c3\u1f7b\u03bd<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>(<i>sun <\/i>or <i>syn<\/i>), together with, and <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Palatino Linotype, serif;\">\u03b6\u03b5<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Palatino Linotype, serif;\">\u1f7b<\/span><span style=\"font-family: SBL Greek;\">\u03b3\u03bd\u03c5\u03bc\u03b9<\/span><\/span><\/span>, <i>to yoke<\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This name is given to the <a href=\"https:\/\/figuresofspeechinthebible.net\/?page_id=870\">Zeugma<\/a> when the verb is joined to more than two clauses, each of which would require its own proper verb in order to complete the sense. *<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">By the Latins it was called ADJUNCTUM, <i>i.e.<\/i>, <i>joined together<\/i>. * On the other hand, when in a succession of clauses each subject has its own proper verb, expressed instead of being understood, then it is called HYPOZEUXIS (<em>Hy\u2019-po-zeux\u2019-is<\/em>), <i>i.e<\/i>., <i>sub-connection with<\/i>. Where several members,<br \/>\nwhich at first form one sentence, are unyoked and separated into two or more clauses, the figure is called DIEZEUGMENON, (<i>Di\u2019-e-zeug\u2019-men-on<\/i>), <i>i.e<\/i>., yoked-through, from \u03b4\u03b9\u1f71 (dia), through.
