The omitted word may be a noun, adjective, pronoun,<br \/>\nverb, participle, adverb, preposition.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<br \/>\n\u2026&#8230;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I. The Omission of\u00a0Nouns and Pronouns<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3300;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u2026<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8230;&#8230;.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. The Omission of the Nominative.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3300;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gen. 14:19, 20 Melchizedek said to Abram, \u201cBlessed be the most high God,<br \/>\nwhich hath delivered thine enemies into thine hand.<br \/>\nAnd he [<i>i.e<\/i>., Abram] gave him tithes of all.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">From the context, as well as from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Heb&amp;c=7&amp;v=4&amp;t=KJV#top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 7:4<\/a>, it is clear that it was Abram who gave the tithes to Melchizedek, and not Melchizedek to Abram.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gen. 39:6 \u2014\u201cAnd he left all that he had in Joseph&#8217;s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was <i>a<\/i> goodly <i>person<\/i>, and well favoured.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Here it is not at all clear which it was of the two who \u201cknew not ought he had.\u201d<br \/>\nIf we understand Potiphar, it is difficult to see how he only knew the bread he ate:<br \/>\nor if Joseph, it is difficult to understand how he knew not ought he had.<br \/>\nIf the <i>Ellipsis<\/i>, however, is rightly supplied, it makes it all clear.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The verse may be rendered, and the Ellipsis supplied as follows:\u2014 \u201cAnd he [<i>Potiphar<\/i>] left all that he had in Joseph&#8217;s hand: and he [<i>Potiphar<\/i>] knew not anything save the bread which he was eating. And Joseph was beautiful of figure, and beautiful of appearance.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nAll difficulty is removed when we remember that \u201cthe Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews, for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Gen&amp;c=43&amp;v=32&amp;t=KJV#32\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen. 43:32<\/a>). Everything, therefore, was committed by Potiphar to Joseph&#8217;s care, except that which pertained to the matter of food.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n2 Sam. 3:7 \u2014\u201cAnd Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah, and . . . said to Abner, Wherefore, <em>etc<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nHere it is clear from the sense of the next verse and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=2Sa&amp;c=21&amp;v=8&amp;t=KJV#conc\/8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Sam. 21:8<\/a> that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/search\/translationResults.cfm?Criteria=Ishbosheth&amp;t=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ishhosheth<\/a>\u201d<br \/>\nis the word to be supplied, as is done in italics.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n2 Sam. 23:20 \u2014\u201cHe slew two lionlike men of Moab.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe Massorah points out<strong>*<\/strong> that the word Ariel occurs three times,<br \/>\nin this passage and Isa. 29:1. In Isa. the word is twice transliterated as a proper name, while in 2 Sam. 23:20, margin, it is translated <i>lions of God<\/i>: the first part of the word <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d0\u05b2\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(<i>aree<\/i>) <i>a lion<\/i>, and the second part\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(<i>\u0113l<\/i>) <i>God.<\/i> But if we keep it uniformly and consistently as a proper name we have with the <em>Ellipsis<\/em> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/cu31924029277047#page\/n9\/mode\/2up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nominative<\/a> (<i>sons<\/i>)<br \/>\nthe following sense: \u201cHe slew the two <i>sons 0f<\/i> Ariel of Moab.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>*<\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>Ginsburg&#8217;s Edition, Vol. 1, pg. 106<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n2 Sam. 24:1 \u2014\u201cAnd again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel,<br \/>\nand he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.\u201d<br \/>\nHere the nominative to the verb \u201cmoved\u201d is wanting. Someone moved, and who that was we learn from 1 Chron. 21:1, from which it is clear that the word <i>Satan<\/i> or <i>the Adversary<\/i> is to be supplied, as is done in the margin: \u2014 \u201cAnd again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and [<i>the Adversary<\/i>] moved David against them to say. Go, number Israel and Judah.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n1 Chron. 6:28 (12) \u2014\u201cAnd the sons of Samuel; the firstborn Vashni<br \/>\n(marg., called also Joel, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=1Ch&amp;c=6&amp;v=28&amp;t=KJV#comm\/33\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ver. 33<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=1Sa&amp;c=8&amp;v=2&amp;t=KJV#top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Sam. 8:2<\/a>) and Abiah.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br \/>\nHere there is an <em>Ellipsis<\/em> of the name of the firstborn: while the word <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d5\u05b7\ufb2a\u05b0\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vashni, when otherwise pointed ( <span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d5\u05b0\ufb2a\u05b5\u05e0\u05b4\u0596\u05d9<span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">) means \u201cand the second\u201d! so that the verse reads,<br \/>\n\u201cAnd the sons of Samuel; the firstborn [<i>Joel<\/i>] and the second Abiah.\u201d<br \/>\nThis agrees with the Syriac Version. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=1Ch&amp;c=6&amp;t=RSV#conc\/28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">R.V.<\/a> correctly supplies the <em>Ellipsis<\/em>,<br \/>\nand translates <i>vashni<\/i> \u201cand the second.\u201d \u201cJoel\u201d is supplied from ver. 33<br \/>\n(see also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=1Sa&amp;c=8&amp;t=KJV#conc\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Sam. 8:2<\/a>, and the note in Ginsburg&#8217;s edition of the Hebrew Bible).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nPsa. 34:17 \u2014\u201c[<i>The righteous<\/i>] cry, and the Lord heareth,<br \/>\nand delivereth them out of all their troubles.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe immediate subject in ver. 16 is <i>evildoers<\/i>. But it is not these who cry.<br \/>\nIt is the righteous. Hence the A.V. and the R.V. supply the words \u201c<i>the righteous\u201d<\/i><br \/>\nin italics. The nominative is omitted, in order that our attention may be fixed not on their persons or their characters, but upon their cry, and the Lord&#8217;s gracious answer.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe same design is seen in all similar cases.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Psa&amp;c=105&amp;t=RSV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psa. 105:40 <\/a>\u2014\u201c[<i>They<\/i>] asked, and he brought quails,\u201d<br \/>\n<i>i.e.<\/i>, the People asked.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe nominative is supplied in the A.V.<br \/>\nBut the R.V. translates it literally \u201cThey asked.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nProv. 22:27 \u2014\u201cIf thou hast nothing to pay, why should one [<i>i.e. the creditor<\/i>]<br \/>\ntake away thy bed from under thee?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nIsa. 26:1 \u2014\u201cIn that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; we have a strong city; salvation will one [<i>i.e, God<\/i>] appoint for walls and bulwarks.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe A.V. interprets by supplying the nominative. The R.V. translates it literally.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nJer. 51:19 \u2014\u201cHe is the former of all things, and Israel is the rod of his inheritance.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nHere both the A.V. and R.V. supply the <i>Ellipsis<\/i> from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Jer&amp;c=10&amp;v=16&amp;t=KJV#16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10:16<\/a>.<br \/>\nHad it been supplied from the immediate context, it would have come under<br \/>\nthe head of Relative <i>Ellipsis<\/i>,\u00a0or that of Repetition.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nEzek. 46:12 \u2014\u201cNow when the Prince shall prepare a voluntary offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the Lord, <i>one<\/i> shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the East, &amp;c.,\u201d<br \/>\n<i>i.e<\/i>., <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\ufb2c\u05e2\u05b5\u05e8 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the <i>gate-keeper<\/i> (supplied from the noun <span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\ufb2c\u05b7\u05e2\u05b7\u05e8 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>the <\/i><i>gate<\/i>), which follows, shall open the gate.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nZech. 7:2 \u2014\u201cWhen they (Heb. <em>he<\/em>) had sent unto the house of God,<br \/>\nSherezer and Regemmelech and their men, to pray before the Lord\u201d<br \/>\n[<i>i.e.<\/i>, when the people who had returned to Judea had sent].<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nMatt. 16:22 \u2014\u201cBe it far from Thee, Lord.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nHere the Ellipsis in the Greek is destroyed by the translation.<br \/>\nThe Greek reads,\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: SBL Greek;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u1f3d\u03bb\u03b5\u03ce\u03c2 \u03c3\u03bf\u03b9 \u03ba\u03cd\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G2436&amp;t=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hile\u014d<\/a><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G4671&amp;t=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">soi<\/a>\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G2962&amp;t=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kyrie<\/a> ), which is untranslatable literally, unless we supply the <i>Ellipsis<\/i> of the Nominative, thus: \u201c[<i>God be<\/i>] merciful to Thee, Lord!\u201d Thus it is in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=1Ch&amp;c=11&amp;v=19&amp;t=KJV#vrsn\/19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Septuagint 1 Chron. 11:19<\/a>, where it is rendered<br \/>\n\u201cGod forbid that I should do this thing,\u201d but it ought to be, \u201c[<i>God<\/i>] be merciful to me [<i>to keep me from doing<\/i>] this thing.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nActs 13:29 \u2014\u201cAnd when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took <i>him<\/i> down from the tree, and laid <em>him <\/em>in a sepulchre\u201d <em><i>i.e<\/i>.<\/em>, Joseph of Arimath\u00e6a and Nicodemus took him down. But it is the act which we are to think of here rather than the persons who did it. Hence the <em><i>Ellipsis<\/i>.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n1 Cor. 15:25 \u2014\u201cFor he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet,\u201d<br \/>\n<i>i.e<\/i>., \u201che [<i>the Son<\/i>] must reign, until he [<i>the Son<\/i>] shall have put all things under his<br \/>\n[<i>the Son&#8217;s<\/i>] feet.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nHere the subjection refers to the period of Christ&#8217;s personal reign. This is one of the seven New Testament references to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Psa&amp;c=110&amp;v=1&amp;t=KJV#top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psa. 110:1<\/a>, \u201cJehovah said unto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H113&amp;t=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adon<\/a>\u2014Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.\u201d The English word \u201cmake\u201d occurs 1,111 times in the Old Testament, as the rendering of 49 Hebrew words.<br \/>\nThe one so rendered here is\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: SBL Hebrew;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u05e9\u05b4\u05c1\u05d9\u05ea <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and means <i>to put<\/i>, <i>place<\/i>, <i>set<\/i>, or <i>appoint<\/i>, and is rendered <i>make<\/i> only 19 times out of 94. T. is <span style=\"font-family: SBL Greek;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u03c4\u03af\u03b8\u03b7\u03bc\u03b9 <span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(<i>titheemi<\/i>), and has the same meaning.<br \/>\nIt is rendered <em>make<\/em> only 10 times out of 91, but in these cases it means <i>to set<\/i> or <i>appoint <\/i>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Act&amp;c=20&amp;v=28&amp;t=KJV#28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acts 20:28<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Rom&amp;c=4&amp;v=17&amp;t=KJV#17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rom. 4:17<\/a>, &amp;<i>c<\/i>.). In every case the verb is in the second aorist subjunctive, and should be rendered \u201c<i>shall have put<\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nSix of the seven references,<br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Mat&amp;c=22&amp;v=44&amp;t=KJV#44\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt. 22:44<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Mar&amp;c=12&amp;v=36&amp;t=KJV#36\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark 12:36<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Luk&amp;c=20&amp;v=42&amp;t=KJV#42\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke 20:42<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Act&amp;c=2&amp;v=34&amp;t=KJV#34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acts 2:34<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Heb&amp;c=1&amp;v=13&amp;t=KJV#13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heb. 1:13<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Heb&amp;c=10&amp;v=13&amp;t=KJV#13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10:13<\/a>) refer to Christ&#8217;s <i>session<\/i> on the Father&#8217;s throne (not to His <i>reign<\/i> upon His own, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blbclassic.org\/Bible.cfm?b=Rev&amp;c=3&amp;v=21&amp;t=KJV#21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rev. 3:21<\/a>). And this session will continue until such time as the Father shall have placed Christ&#8217;s enemies as a footstool for His feet. When that shall have been done, He will rise up from His seat and come forth into the air <i>for <\/i>His people, to receive them to Himself, and take them up to meet Him in the air so to be ever with the Lord. Then He will come unto the earth <i>with<\/i> them, and sit upon the throne of His glory, and reign until He shall have put all enemies under His feet. The other <i>six<\/i> passages refer to Christ&#8217;s <i>session<\/i>. This <i>one<\/i> refers to His <i>reign<\/i> upon His own throne (not to His <i>session<\/i> on His Father&#8217;s throne, Rev. 3:21). And this reign will continue until He (Christ) hath put all His enemies under His feet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nNote, that in the six passages His enemies are placed \u201cas a footstool for His feet,\u201d and there is not a word about their being <i>under<\/i> His feet. In the one passage (1 Cor. 15:25) there is not a word about being placed \u201cas a footstool,\u201d but the word \u201cunder\u201d His feet is used. We must distinguish between <i>placing<\/i> and <i>making<\/i>, and Christ&#8217;s <i>session<\/i> and His <i>reign<\/i>.
