\nAp’-o-logue. Greek, \u1f00\u03c0\u03cc\u03bb\u03bf\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2 from \u1f00\u03c0\u03cc (apo), from<\/em>, and \u03bb\u03bf\u03b3\u03cc\u03c2 (logos), speech<\/em>
\n(from \u03bb\u03ad\u03b3\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd, to speak<\/em>), a story<\/em>, tale<\/em>; and especially a fable<\/em>. Latin, FABULA<\/strong>, a fable<\/em>.

\nAn Apologue<\/em> (or Fable<\/em>) differs from a Parable<\/em>, in that the Parable<\/em> describes what
\nis likely or probable, or at any rate what is believed by the hearers as probable, while
\nthe Fable<\/em> is not limited by such considerations, and is used of impossibilities, such as trees, or animals, and inanimate things talking and acting.<\/p>\n


\nThe Fable<\/em>, therefore, is a fictitious narrative intended to illustrate some maxim or truth.
\n
\nJudges 9:8-15<\/a> would be a Fable<\/em>, were it not explained in verse 16.

\nAs it is, there are no examples of Fable<\/em>, as such, in the Word of God..<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
