\nEu’-chee<\/i>. Greek, e\u1f50\u03c7\u1f75, a prayer<\/em>, wish<\/em>, or vow<\/em>. Latin VOTUM.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nThis includes a prayer<\/em>, or wish<\/em>; also a prayer<\/em> for evil; hence curse<\/em>, imprecation<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nThis figure is a change by which a statement is expressed as a prayer,
\ninstead of as a matter of fact. And where the prayer comes in by way of
\nparenthesis caused by the sudden change.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nIts use arises from and betokens an excited condition of feeling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nThe Scriptures abound with examples of all kinds, which may be sought out
\nand studied for instruction and example.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
