\n2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

\nThe English translators use the word\u00a0\u03c6\u03c9\u03bd\u1f74<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0here, meaning sound. The word\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u03c6\u03c9\u03bd\u1f74<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0may refer to the sound of a voice, as it is usually translated, however, it is in reference to the sound rather than the words spoken. The same word is used twice in the verse, the second time simply as\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201csound\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span> instead of \u201cvoice\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span>. It may be that the translators took liberty to use the word \u201cvoice\u201d the first time the word is used in the verse, or it may be the figure Prosopop<\/i>\u0153<\/i>ia.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
